PERSONAL STATEMENT

 

‘Art is an integral part of my life; as my life is an integral part of my art.  Freedom, the very essence of art, is the essential quality of my own existence.  I wish to create outside the realm of definition and hope that my work, whatever the medium, will stand for itself and by itself.’

 

An important artistic concern of mine is the appropriation and comprehension of art to the masses. I feel art should speak to a broad expanse of people rather than only to the sophisticated individuals that are educated in the dialect.  Classical art has a wide scope of comprehension compared to the explicit way in which modern art is discoursed and extrapolated.

 

Classical art is the fundamental style in all art that is comprehensive to the masses because of its realistic and descriptive visual characteristics. All Classical styles: music, art, poetry, and architecture have had the most profound effect on society as a whole because of their ability to be understood by a broader audience.  Furthermore Classical art contains the building blocks for all artistic understanding, from dynamics, weight, light, shape, composition, perspective, depth of field, tension, tonality, form, and color.

 

Intercultural and cross-cultural influences broadens the artist’s masterful ability to render concepts to an outsider. Coupling the multicultural background with critical and demanding objectives.
